As a sculptor, Steeves creates pieces that are based on memories and the connections we make with objects. Initially, the starting point for the objects begins on a personal level with memories and text-based associations. Yet, through the repurposing of materials and by inviting audience interaction with[in] the space, the audience is able to create their own narrative or associations with the objects.
Residing in Georgia, Ainsley Steeves received her BFA in Arts with a focus in Sculpture and a BA in English-Professional Writing at Columbus State University. Her work has also been shown in various exhibitions, including Beyond Go Figure III at the Bo Bartlett Center and Liminal Light: BFA Thesis Exhibition at the Corn Center's Illges Gallery. She has received several grants, such as an SRACE (Student Research And Creative Endeavors) Grant in Fall 2021 and a CSU Study Abroad Grant in Spring 2019.
